A Bordeaux style blend aged in first and second use French oak barrels for 18 months. An attractive intense ruby red in the glass, with a bouquet of red fruits raspberry and plum, giving way to delicate spice and cigar notes. Red and blackberries reprise on the palate with silky-smooth tannins. The full oak aging balances the acidity to provide full body and a long lingering finish.
We started this blend by co-fermenting Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes and then, prior to bottling, we blended in some Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which was also co-fermented with 5% Viognier.
Final blend consists of Malbec (28.6%); Merlot (13.6%); Cabernet Sauvignon (14.3%); Cabernet Franc (28.6%); Petit Verdot (14.3%) and Viognier (0.7%)
