Chocolate Sheath Cake

Original recipe from D Morel but adapted by Mom (Mrs Joe Pruitt Johnson)
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 stick of oleo for cake and 1 stick of oleo for frosting
- 1/2 cup Crisco
- 3 tbsps Cocoa
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 cup Buttermilk
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/3 cup milk (for frosting)
- 3 1/2 tbsps Cocoa (for frosting)
Directions
Mix - don't sift
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
Bring to boil
1 stick of oleo
1/2 cup of Crisco
1 cup of water
3 tablespoons of cocoa
Pour this over the flour and sugar and mix well.
Add 2 eggs
Add 1/2 cup of buttermilk
1 teaspoon of soda
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Mix and bake in 350 degree oven for 25 min in sheath pan
Frosting
Bring to boil
1 stick of oleo
1/3 cup of milk
3 1/2 tablespoons of cocoa
Remove from heat and add one box of confectioners sugar.
Spread on cake while still slightly warm
